The World Blockchain Organization (WBO) is a Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) registered with United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) , an international advocacy organization dedicated to the promotion of responsible, sustainable and universally accessible block chain technology.

Blockchain technology, digital currencies and smart contracts will change the way global economy operates. In the same way that the internet gave us a powerful way to share and access world wide information, block chain technology now gives us a powerful way to share and access world wide value. As the leading international advocacy organization of block chain technology and bio-system, WBO promotes block chain technology as a driver of economic growth, inclusive development and environmental sustainability and offers leadership and support to the sector in advancing knowledge and block chain policies worldwide.

WBO encourages the implementation of the Global Code of Ethics for block chain community, to maximize block chain technology’s socio-economic contribution while minimizing its possible negative impacts, and is committed to promoting block chain technology as an instrument in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), geared towards fostering sustainable development worldwide. WBO provides market knowledge, promotes competitive and sustainable block chain policies and instruments, fosters block chain education and training, and accelerates to make block chain an effective tool for development through United Nations technical assistance projects in over 100 countries around the world.
